Routes to the UK

1) Study Route:

  • Securing an Admission to the UK University

2) Job Route:

Tier 2 Skilled worker visa. The occupations that are listed on the Tier 2 Shortage Occupation List can apply to work in the UK on a long-term basis. This is a points-based visa and applicants must score a minimum of 70 points to get this visa.

You will need to have:

  • A valid passport
  • A job offer with Job Occupation Code and a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) reference number from your employer
  • Job Title and appropriate salary that meets the Minimum Salary threshold
  • English Language Test Score – passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider like IELTS or PTE. If you have a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English then you’ll need to apply through Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) for confirmation that your qualification is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
  • Proof of funds to support yourself and any dependants while in the UK
  • Health certificate for tuberculosis with test results
  • Criminal record certificate (Police clearance)

3) ‘High Potential Individual’ visa:

  • This visa allows you to enter the UK to work without having a job offer. This is an unsponsored visa route under the UK points-based immigration system. This means UK employers won’t need a sponsor licence to employ a High Potential Individual who is in the UK or planning to come to the UK to work. This option is open to those who have graduated from an Ivy League or top global university in a STEM subject and it will allow overseas students to work in the country for at least two years.
  • Look for a job and obtain a work permit with a valid job offer
  • Afterwards, individuals will have the flexibility to switch jobs or employers and it will also allow eligible individuals to extend their visa and settle in the UK, subject to meeting specific requirements

4) Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR):
